About Us

We have been married since August 9, 1997. God graced us with our beautiful boy Andrew on December 10, 1999. We are originally from Massachusetts, born and raised there. We spent the first 13 years of our life together serving at a local church in MA in a variety of ways. In December of 2010, God graciously led us to Louisville, KY, to begin a new chapter in our lives.  John is now working as an asst. manager of a hotel, and Jessica is teaching 3rd grade at Highlands Latin School, where Andrew also attends.  We are members at Kenwood Baptist Church and love worshiping our great God with this wonderful family of dedicated believers.

We first started a blog back in May of 2008 as a means to keep in touch with family. However, shortly after starting the blog, Jessica got very sick and was in the hospital for about 2 weeks and had major surgery. Obviously, the blog was a great way to communicate with family and friends during those uncertain times, but it was the things that God was teaching us about himself through that difficult time that really sparked the desire to keep blogging.  The blog became a sort of public journal on a variety of topics and themes.

It is our desire that “A Hill to Die On” will be a blog focused on Christ. We can think of nothing greater, nor more beneficial for us to spend our time meditating on and writing about. This helps us to narrow our focus on what is of most importance; that being that Jesus is the son of God, God made flesh to dwell among us to die for our sins. Of whom John the Baptist said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29 ESV) This is what we want to occupy our minds. We have a great deal more to learn about Christ and what it means to follow Him, and we are eager to look deeply into the Word made flesh and share what we learn, even if we are the only ones who read it. We will still write about some other things as well, but the glory of Christ and the cost of following Him will be the driving theme of the blog.
